Nucor Corporation Encounters Operational Disruptions Following Cybersecurity Incident

A cybersecurity incident affecting Nucor Corporation, the leading steel manufacturer in the United States, has necessitated the offline status of portions of the company’s networks as well as the implementation of containment measures. Nucor has also reported that it has alerted law enforcement officials and is collaborating with external cybersecurity professionals to support the ongoing investigation. Although some production operations at various facilities were momentarily disrupted, the company is now in the process of gradually resuming these activities.

Details regarding the specific nature of the attack, including whether it involved data theft or system encryption, have yet to be disclosed. As of this moment, no ransomware groups have claimed responsibility for the intrusion, leaving the identity of the perpetrators unknown.
