ChatGPT Launches O3-PRO Model Exclusively for $200 Professional Subscribers
OpenAI is set to release an update for ChatGPT that will activate the new o3 Pro model, which boasts enhanced computational abilities for more complex reasoning tasks.
Currently, ChatGPT subscriptions at the $20 Plus tier include o4-mini, o4-mini-high, GPT-4.5, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1-mini, and o3 models. In contrast, the $200 Pro subscription encompasses all these options, in addition to the o1 Pro model, which offers increased computational power.
While o1 Pro delivers significant capabilities, it may appear somewhat antiquated compared to the forthcoming o3 Pro model. OpenAI’s recent announcements hint at the imminent replacement of o1 Pro with o3 Pro, a change anticipated to empower Pro users with enhanced problem-solving capabilities.
The o3 model has already demonstrated superior performance over o1 in benchmark tests. Although o1 Pro provides additional computational resources that enhance reliability across challenging tasks, o3 Pro is expected to merge the robust baseline reasoning of o3 with further reliability improvements. This combination is poised to elevate the operational efficacy of the existing o3 model, enabling Pro users to accomplish more ambitious objectives.
OpenAI is expected to formally announce the availability of the o3 Pro model for $200 Pro subscribers in the coming week or later this month.
