Kosovo Extradites BlackDB Administrator to the United States to Address Cybercrime Allegations
A Kosovo national has been extradited to the United States to address charges relating to the operation of an online cybercrime marketplace in existence since 2018.
The individual, Liridon Masurica, age 33, known online as @blackdb, was apprehended by Kosovar authorities on December 14, 2024. His extradition to the United States occurred earlier this month, on May 9, 2025.
Masurica appeared in court in Tampa on May 12, where he was presented before U.S. Magistrate Judge Lindsay Saxe Griffin. During the hearing, he faced five counts of fraudulent use of unauthorized access devices and one count of conspiracy to commit access device fraud.
As outlined in court documents, Masurica served as the lead administrator for the online criminal marketplace BlackDB.cc, which has been operational for seven years since its inception in 2018.
The U.S. Department of Justice reported that BlackDB.cc illicitly offered compromised accounts, server credentials, stolen credit card information, and personally identifiable information (PII), primarily belonging to U.S. citizens. Purchasers of these illegal items engaged in various criminal activities, such as credit card fraud, tax fraud, and identity theft.
The investigation leading to Masurica’s arrest was conducted by the FBI in collaboration with the Kosovo Police’s Cybercrime Investigation Directorate, with additional support from the FBI’s Legal Attaché Office in Sofia and the Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs.
If found guilty of all charges, Masurica faces a potential maximum sentence of 55 years in federal prison.
In December, a coordinated law enforcement operation resulted in the seizure of the Rydox cybercrime marketplace, alongside the arrests of three Rydox administrators, all Kosovo nationals. In a related effort, German authorities recently apprehended key suspects linked to the closure of both the Manson and Crimenetwork markets, notable online cybercrime platforms in Germany.
